Should Animals Be In Zoos?

Should Animals Be In Zoos?

Do you think animals should be in zoos? Personally I am strongly against it. Because did you know that in 1970 more than  90 Orcas were herded into a net with explosives and boats at Puget sound. Lotita is one of those Orcas and she has spent more than 45 years in the Miami seaquarium after being ripped away from her family.

Another reason is that animals become mentally ill and very stressed and because of that they die younger. The animals are also becoming obese because they don’t get enough exercise in their enclosure. Someone did a research and found that a Elephant only lived for 18.9 years if kept in a enclosure but a Elephant that lived in the wild lived for 41.7 years! That's almost double the time that the Elephant in the enclosure lived for. And that's not all the suffering.

Please just listen to me a little while longer, I beg you. What happens next is going to shock you. You know when you go to sea world and those sorts of places and you see the animals doing tricks but you didn’t think that they trained them with blow torches and electric prods right? Well they do. Another method to train/punish the animals is to starve them until they do the trick right! This is the definition of animal cruelty!

Zoos literally can control what the animals eat, when they eat, who the animals live with. Don’t you think that the animals should be controlling that? And sure the zoo has a safe place for the animals to live but it’s fake. It’s not their true place to live. It’s not their home.

So please hear my final call of desperation to free the animals in zoos and let them be them. And not hold them back from what they can actually do.
